Yesterday (September 2) at around 8:10am police were called to Eden Street in Kingston, following reports of a man in possession of a hammer “acting aggressively.”
A man, aged 21, was found with a head injury.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.
Met Police has said that his injuries are no longer believed to be life-threatening.
One man was detained and arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at about 08:10hrs on Saturday, 2 September to reports of a man in possession of hammer, and acting aggressively on Eden Street in Kingston.
“Officers attended and found a 21-year-old man with a head injury.
“He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
“A man was detained nearby and subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
“He remains in police custody.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 08.09am today (2 September) to reports of an incident on Eden Street, Kingston.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene including two ambulance crews.
“We treated a man at the scene before taking him to a hospital.”
