Cabaret Identitease – a brand new inclusive cabaret show created by disabled performers is coming to Kingston for the first time ever! Created by co-founders Harley Phoenix and Turkish D’Light, in collaboration with Miss Lolly May, this pioneer show in the cabaret industry features a fantastic line-up including disabled performers, neurodiverse performers, LGBTQIA+ performers and allies. This will be a charity show to raise funds and awareness for Endometriosis UK. The line up consists of international cabaret superstars such as Cat Phisher, Curly Chaos, Crystal Bollix, Lilith Apple, Lady Blue Phoenix, Lady Lazarus, Midd Lolly May and of course the co-founders Harley Phoenix and Turkish D’Light. The producers have worked hard to provide an inclusive event not only for the performers but also for the audience members. The show offers complementary carer tickets, step-free venue access (plus step-free stage access for performers), noise-reducing earplugs and non-alcoholic drink options. For specific accessibility requirements, audience members can email the producers at cabaretidentitease@gmail.com. The producers have also recently held an open forum with the Kingston University Disability Society to hear the voices of multiple local individuals and their recommendations on accessibility. The event will be held at The Fighting Cocks Bar & Live Music Venue on Wednesday 19th April, 2023 at 7:00pm, with tickets available on DesignMyNight at https://www.designmynight.com/london/whats-on/burlesque-cabaret/cabaret-identitease
On top of an all-black background, there are 2 bright yellow spotlights on each top corner. In the middle of the spotlights, “Cabaret Identitease” is written in bright bold yellow. The word “tease” is highlighted via outlines to create a pun on the words identity/tease. Under the title, it is written “a burlesque and cabaret show for all identities. Right under that is the logo for our show made up of a person with varied types of skin colour split into 4 sections: each section represents a different type of disability such as d/Deaf or hearing impaired, a person using mobility aids, a person with an enlarged abdomen that could represent multiple illnesses/disabilities, and a person with a shorter arm representing individuals with amputations. On the left of the logo, the poster reads “Kingston, The Fighting Cocks, 19th April 2023, Doors 7 pm, follow us on Instagram @CabaretIdentitease. On the right side of the logo, it reads “In support of Endometriosis UK” and there is a QR code that takes you to our ticket website which is also linked to this post. Underneath it says “tickets £15 in advance”. Under all of these are cut out photos of Miss Lolly May, a female with a black corset and dark hair looking sultrily at Miss Harley Phoenix, who is a female with blond hair and a luxurious blue gown, and Turkish D’Light, a female with dark hair wearing a black and white corset costume.
