
Tower Bridge is stuck open due to a ‘mechanical fault’, bringing traffic in the capital to come to a chaotic standstill.
The world-famous landmark appears to become stuck open after witnesses watch the two arms come down at different angles.

The bridge regularly opens to allow ships to pass through along the River Thames, but the arms, known as bascules, appear lopsided after they failed to come down in unison.
Mechanics are on the scene trying to fix the issue, and drivers are being urged to use alternative routes as traffic is stationary in both directions.

According to City of London Police: Tower Bridge is currently closed to pedestrians and traffic, due a mechanical fault. Mechanics are currently working hard to fix the bridge. Please find alternative routes.
