Man fighting for his life after being hit by train at south London station

Police were called reports of a casualty on the tracks at the station this morning (December 16) at around 8.15am.

The man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to the British Transport Police (BTP) the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The station has been taped off by police, with no access allowed to the general public.

Several ambulances are parked near the station, with sirens blaring from all the different vehicles.

Crowds of people have also gathered outside the station to witness the operation this morning.

At the time of reporting, disruption is expected to last until 11.30am according to National Rail, but this could be extended to later in the day.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at around 8.15am this morning (16 December) to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Kingston railway station.

“Officers responded with paramedics and a person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
