Æthel’sTown is a free two day event for all the family giving the public the opportunity to get away from everyday life and immerse themselves in all things Saxon. It is part of Kingston 2025, a borough wide celebration of the 1100th anniversary of King Æthelstan being crowned in Kingston in 925.

There will be a Saxon encampment, a parade over the river, battlefield reenactments and a Saxon community fayre will showcase its community stalls with the skills and trades of the era! There will be farm animals, falconry, mindful tapestry making, demonstrations and even a working forge turning up the heat!
